1. Hamilton Farmer’s Market

The Hamilton Farmer’s Market is open year-round, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It has been running since 1837 and is overseen by the City of Hamilton. Located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, this farmer’s market is beside Jackson Square and the Hamilton Public Library. With over 50 vendors, you’ll find everything from produce and baked goods to meat, fish, and artisan goods.

2. Waterdown Farmer’s Market

Located in the parking lot at the Canadian Legion, the Waterdown Farmer’s Market runs every Saturday morning from May to October. Over 30 vendors offer fruits, vegetables, fresh honey, flowers, prepared foods, preserves, VQA wines, and more. All agricultural products are grown at local farms.

3. Burlington Mall Farmer’s Market

The Burlington Centre Lions Farmer’s Market is located in the Burlington Centre parking lot. It runs during the summer on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Vendors carry locally grown produce, baking, fresh meats, and cheeses. Organized by the Burlington Lions Club, all proceeds from the market are given back to the community, helping those in need. The market has been a staple in the Burlington community for over 66 years.

4. Oakville Farmer’s Market

The Civitan Farmer’s Market is located at the Dorval Crossing East Plaza and is Oakville’s longest-running farmer’s market. All summer, you can visit the market on Saturday morning between 8 am and 1:30 pm. The market runs from May to the end of November. All proceeds earned by market stall rentals are donated to Oakville charities. You’ll find everything from produce and baked goods to homemade soups, empanadas, candles and preserves.

5. Milton Farmer’s Market

The Milton Farmer’s Market is a staple of beautiful downtown Milton. Free parking allows you to wander the market, visiting over 40 vendors every Saturday morning. The street is closed, so you can stroll the market and visit the quaint downtown shops without any car traffic. Vendors offer fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods, flowers, homemade popcorn, and more. This beautiful market draws over 2,500 visitors each week.

6. Cristan Farms

Cristan Farms is a favourite produce stand among Burlington families. It runs seasonally from July to November on Winston Churchill Blvd. They offer freshly grown produce, cut flowers, plants and homemade gifts. Their hours vary in the spring, depending on what produce is available, and they open fully in July. You can visit their Facebook page for exact hours and offerings, including fresh asparagus, strawberries, tomatoes and eggs.

7. Dundas Farmer’s Market

The Dundas Farmer’s Market runs Thursdays from 2-6 pm, June to October. Located at the corner of Hatt Street and Miller’s Lane, the market aims to restore the link between farmers and consumers. You can find fruits and vegetables, dried and cured meats, VQA wine and craft beer, freshly baked bread, local honey and more. Dundas also has one of the quaintest downtowns in the area, filled with beautiful shops, cafes and restaurants.

8. McQuestern Urban Farm

McQuestern Urban Farm is a not-for-profit farm dedicated to helping the Hamilton community. Located on Britannia Ave. in Hamilton, McQuestern offers events and offers throughout the year for people to enjoy their fresh produce. In the spring, they host a seedling sale where you can buy plants to grow fresh produce in your yard. Their weekly fresh produce market opens in mid-July, and you can also order boxes of organic fresh produce for weekly pickup. Together with Niwasa Kendaaswin Teg (a charitable Indigenuos organization), they also offer cooking, baking, pickling and dehydrating classes.

9. Centro Farmer’s Market

Centro Farmer’s Market is held every Sunday in the parking lot of Centro Garden Store on Brant St. in Burlington. The market showcases local vendors offering goods such as homemade baking, vegetables, flowers, wines, meats, and handmade goods. They aim to connect people with organic food, natural goods, and locally grown produce. Centro is a relaxed general store focused on design, art, and indoor and outdoor gardening.

10. Ottawa Street Farmers Market

The Ottawa Street Shopping District is one of Hamilton’s most popular shopping destinations. The Ottawa Street Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 8 am-2 pm, April to December. Every vendor at the market is located within 100 km to ensure you receive only the freshest produce and local products. You can find fresh produce, fish, meat, cheese, artisan bread, baked goods, local honey, VQA wine, and more. The market also hosts several events throughout the year to keep things fun for the whole family.
